Sarah was born on July 9th, 1994 in Launceston.  Sarah's father was Peter Edward Young and her mother was Louisa Ann Findlay.  Her maternal grandparents were Alexander Findlay and Sarah Knackston. She had a brother and six sisters, named Alexander, Ethel, Louisa, Violet, Edith, Jessie and Ella.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
