Carolina Hester was born on March 11th, 1810. Carolina Hester's father was Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and her mother was Martha Basina Dorothea van de Kaap. Her paternal grandparents were Rogier Bernhadus van Blerk and Hilletjie Giebelaar (van Blerk). She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Johannes Everhadus, Hendrik Everhadus, Fredrik Andries Georg, Marthinus Samuel, Bastiaan Pieter Everhadus, Alida Johanna, Louisa Carolina, Hester Petronella George, Orgina Johanna, Johanna Scheubelina, Keetjie Wilhelmina and Rosina Johanna Hendrina. She was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children.General Notes
