Edith Jane was born in 1881 in Freeland, Oxfordshire.  Edith Jane's father was Jesse DIX and her mother was Eliza WHITE.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph WHITE and Alice GARDNER. She had a brother and three sisters, named Charles E, Amy, Dorothy and Ruth.  She was the third oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Thomas Benjamin, Alice, Mary Elizabeth, Florence Rosina and Blanch Ellen.  She died at the age of 89 in 1970 in Witney District.
