Charles E was born in 1879 in Freeland, Oxfordshire.  Charles E's father was Jesse DIX and his mother was Eliza WHITE.  His maternal grandparents were Joseph WHITE and Alice GARDNER. He had four sisters named Amy, Edith Jane, Dorothy and Ruth.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Thomas Benjamin, Alice, Mary Elizabeth, Florence Rosina and Blanch Ellen.  He died at the age of 74 in 1953 in Oxford District.
