William was born in 1739 in Boughton Malherbe, Kent.  William's father was William BOORMAN and his mother was Mary SEXBY.  His paternal grandparents are Isaac BOURMAN and Mary EARLS. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Francis, Thomas, Mary, Susannah, Elizabeth and Sarah.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
