Mary was born in 1738 in Boughton Malherbe, Kent.  Mary's father was William BOORMAN and her mother was Mary SEXBY.  Her paternal grandparents are Isaac BOURMAN and Mary EARLS. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Francis, Thomas, Susannah, Elizabeth and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the seven children.
