Cadwgan Rhys

Cadwgan was born in 1149 in , Carmarthenshire, , Wales. Cadwgan's father was Rhys ap Gruffydd and his mother was Gwenlian verch Madog. His paternal grandparents were Prince Gruffydd ap Rhys and Gwenlian of Gwynedd verch Gruffydd; his maternal grandparents were Madog ap MAREDUDD and Susannah ferch GRUFFYDD. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Gruffydd ap, Hywel, Rhys, Maredydd, Philip, Angharad, Tangwystl, Nest, Gwenllian and Margred verch. He is the third oldest of the eleven children.
