Burial: Date: 7 Apr 1924 Place: Raymond, Alberta, Canada Individual Note: OBITUARY: Mrs. Lorana Weeks Rodeback, wife of James Rodeback, deceased, passed to her last rest Friday night, April 4th at 7:30 after an illness which lasted several weeks. She was a native of Utah, being born at Cedar Fort, April 16th 1854. She had the distinction of being the first child born in cedar Valley. The Fort was erected there to protect the Mormon settlers against the attacks of the Indians, who at that time were unfriendly and often committed serious depredations upon the Saints. Two brothers of the deceased were killed by the Indians during these trying pioneer days in Cedar Valley. Sister Rodeback was married to James Rodeback in the endowment house, Salt Lake City, February, 1874. They were blessed with a large family of children, ten in all, one of whom, a girl, died in childhood. In 1902 the family moved to Raymond, where they have since resided and taken their full share in building a new community. The children in order of their births are: James Allen, Albert, Almina(twins), Ray, Don, Edith, William, Lexie and Roxie. All except Albert were at the bedside of their mother when the end came. Sister Rodeback has been a faithful Latter Day Saint all her days, and so long as her health permitted was actively engaged in and blessings to those who were in need. For several years she was president of the Raymond Relief Society, in which position she gained the love and respect of all who came within the scope of her sweet influence. Well may it be said, "her life was an inspiration, her memory a benediction." Funderal services were held last Monday in the Stake House. The beautiful floral offerings and the large attendance bespoke the high esteem in which this good woman was held in this community. Friends and relatives from Cardston, Magrath, Lethbridge and Taber were present. Members from both ward choirs led by Aziel Stevenson supplied songs for the service. Song: Though Deepening Trials Throng Your Way. Prayer, Elder S.F. Kimball, Song, O My Father, Solo, Rock of Ages by James Walker, Solo, Prayer Perfect, by Sister Emma Burr. Speakers, Elder Jas. S. Anderson, Elder Chas. McCarth, Elder A. Mercer, Magrath, Elder O.H. Snow and Bishop J.W. Evans. All spoke feelingly and in high praise of the deceased. Closing song, Jesus Savior Pilot Me. Benediction, Elder L.D. King. Burial took place at the local cemetery
