    Note: 3 May 1868; Fort Cedar, Utah Territory; 'This morning I commence to write a sketch of my history commencing about the time my father left Alabama, Morgan County on the 18 of Sept. 1829 and emigrated to the state of Illinois, Shelby County with his family. My fathers name was Benjamin Weeks, my mothers name before marriage was Hannah Allen her fathers name was Drewry Allen her mothers name before she was married to Allen was Leurany Heart Groath . My fathers family consisted of nine the elder was Sarah the 2 was (?) the 3 Minta. The oldest sons name was Basil the 2 sons name was Andrew the next James the next Allen the next Lurany the next was William and the yougest. . . .' From another entry; 'History of Allen Weekes the son of Benjamin and Hannah Weeks he was born in North Carolina, Rutherford County, on January the 24, 1813 and moved to Alabama with the family when 4 years old and in 29 (1829) moved with his father to Illinois, Shelby County.
