Jean was born on January 6th, 1702 in Rillaar.  Jean's father was Sébastien Vleminx and his mother was Elisabeth Camerlinckx.  His paternal grandparents were Marcus Vleminx and Adriana Nys. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Jean, Jois, Marie, Anne, Anne, Marie and Ann Cornélie.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
