Jean was born on June 22nd, 1692 in Rillaar.  Jean's father was Sébastien Vleminx and his mother was Elisabeth Camerlinckx.  His paternal grandparents were Marcus Vleminx and Adriana Nys. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Jois, Jean, Marie, Anne, Anne, Marie and Ann Cornélie.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.
