Ons was born on December 14th, 1809 in Lubbeek.  Ons' father was Joannes Babtista Ons and his mother was Maria Verrek.  His paternal grandparents were Petrus Ons and Maria Minnen. He had a sister named Petronella.  He was the younger of the two children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Joannes Babtista, Petrus, Theodorus, Anna Maria, Petronella, Jacobus, Anna Elisabeth and Maria Elisabeth.  He died on December 14th, 1809 in Lubbeek.
