Chaya's father is Yitchak Oratz and her mother is Toby Oratz.  Her maternal grandparents were  Pinchos Menachem Rubinson and  Chava Freida Rubinson.  She is the fifth of six children.  She has a brother and four sisters, named Yaakov, Shainy, Nechama, Sorah Tzipporah and Adina.
