Isaac was born on April 8th, 1817 in Trimley, St Martin. Isaac's father was Robert Topple and his mother was Elizabeth Smith. He was the third of five children. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Henry, Lydia and Elizabeth. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert, John, George, Mary and Sarah.
