George was born in year 1808 in St Columb Major, Cornwall. George's father was George Whitaker and his mother was Jane Langdon. His maternal grandparents were William Langdon and Jane Bullock. He was the second of seven children. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George, George, William, Isabella, Emma and Mary. He died, at the age of 5 years, in year 1813 in St Columb Major, Cornwall.
