József Körtvélyesi

József was born in March 1856 in Kisvárda and his baptism took place there on March 2nd, 1856.¹   József's father was László Körtvélyesi and his mother was Emilia Borcsik.  His paternal grandparents were Mihály Mátyás Körtvélyessy and Mária Vályi. He had six brothers and two sisters, named József, László, István, Sándor, János, István, Mária and Ilona.  He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-sister named Margit.
