William Best

William was born on February 16th, 1826 in Dittisham, Devon. William's father was William Best and his mother was Susanna Finch. His maternal grandparents were James Finch and Grace Elliott. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Richard, John, Edward, Ebenezer, Harriet, Mary, Susan and Louisa. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
