  • Clayton M. Gearhart, seventy-nine, 141 East Eight street, Bloomsburg, died at Bloomsburg Hospital yesterday afternoon at three-ten.  He had been hospitalized a week and in failing health for the past year.
    
    He was born in Rockefeller township, Northumberland county, August 18, 1888, son of the late Frank and Yeager Gearhart.  He was a retried railroad foreman.
    
    He was member of Bloomsburg Moose.
    
    His wife, the former Leona Klinger, died a number of years ago.
    
    Surviving are seven children, Ernest, Sunbury; Mrs. Thelma Remley, Northumberland; Mrs. Stanley Webb, Radcliffe, Kentucky; Harold, Danville; Mrs. Robert Stevens, Wayne, Mich.; Clair, Fort Washington; Arthur, Monticello, N.Y.; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; six brothers, William, Clarence and Charles, Sunbury R.D.; Mahlon and Boyd and Ammon, Sunbury; a sister Mrs. Jennie Furnman, Sunbury R.D. 3.
    
    Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at two from the Wirt Funeral Home, Sunbury, with Rev. Gilbert Martin, Lutheran pastor, Northmumberland, officiating. Burial will be at Eden Lutheran cemetery, near Sunbury.
