Clarence GEARHART

Clarence, known as Clarence, was born on February 11th, 1901. Clarence's father was Franklin GEARHART and his mother was Mary Flora SHIPE. His paternal grandparents were Peter GEARHART and Lydia MILLER; his maternal grandparents were Solomon H. SHIPE and Sarah KERLIN. He had a brother named Ammon. He was the older of the two children. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Charles, Mahlon, Clayton, Amiedly , Boyd, Gertrude and Jennie. He diedMay 30th, 1989.

  SUNBURY - Clarence Gearhart, 88, Sunbury RD2, died Tuesday morning, May 30, 1989, in Sunbury Community Hospital.
  
  He was born in Stonington Feb 12, 1901, the son of the late Frank and Flora (Shipe) Gearhart. His wife, the former Martha Derr, died in 1981.
  
  Mr. Gearhart formerly owned and operated a dairy and dairy store on Route 61 until his retirement in 1950.
  
  He was a member of the United Lutheran Church Sunbury RD4.
  
  He is survivied by one son, C. Robert of Shamokin Dam; two grandchuldren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
  
  The funeral will be private. Burial will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery, Sunbury RD4.
  
  Donations may be made to the United Lutheran Church, Sunbury RD4.
  
  Funeral arrangements were made by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury.
