Catherine, known as Catherine, was born in 1809.  Catherine's father was Jacob GEARHART and her mother was Mary (Polly) FISHER.  Her paternal grandparents were John Jacob GEARHART and Magdalene NEVER. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Peter, Daniel, Gideon, Jacob, Joseph, John, Elizabeth, Mary and Sarah.  She was the second oldest of the ten children.
