C. Robert, known as C. Robert, was born on November 23rd, 1920.¹ C. Robert's father was Clarence GEARHART and his mother was Martha H. DERR. His paternal grandparents were Franklin GEARHART and Mary Flora SHIPE. He was an only child. He diedDec 13th, 2006. The funeral took place on December 30th, 2006 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam, PA. He was buried in United Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sunbury, PA.²¹¹

  DUNCANSVILLE — C. Robert Gearhart, 86, of the Winds at Mattern Orchard, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg.
  
  He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Sunbury, the son of the late Clarence and Martha (Derr) Gearhart. He was married to the former Irene Sidler, who preceded him in death in September 2004.
  
  Robert was a World War II veteran who served in the Army.
  
  Robert was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam.
  
  He was employed as an engineer by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
  
  Surviving are his sons, Barry of Altoona, Larry of Montana and James Stover of Delaware; grandchildren, Toni Shellenberger, Teri English, Brian Gearhart, Stacey Gearhart, Chad Stover and Hart Stover; great-grandchildren, Jason Kline, Luke Shellenberger, Kyle and Kale English; and great-great-grandchildren, Devin English and Brennan Kline.
  
  A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam, by Pastor Wayne Muthler. Interment will follow in United Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sunbury.
  
  In remembrance of Robert, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.
  
  Arrangements are by the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona.
