Benjamin Petty

Benjamin was born in 1847 in Darley, Menwith, Hampsthwaite, Yorkshire, England.¹ Benjamin's father was George Petty and his mother was Hannah Brewer. His paternal grandmother was Jane. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Thomas, Joseph, James, Charles, Mary, Jane, Hannah, Elizabeth and Sarah. He was the tenth oldest of the twelve children.
