Robert Newiss

Robert was born in September 1859 in Clifford, Yorkshire, England.¹ Robert's father was Thomas Newis and his mother was Mary Gow. His paternal grandparents were Robert Newis and Sara (Newhouse). He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, George, James Gow, Thomas Ibotson, Ann, Sarah and Mary Ann. He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.
