George Newhouse

George was born in 1844 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.¹ George's father was Thomas Newis and his mother was Mary Gow. His paternal grandparents were Robert Newis and Sara (Newhouse). He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, James Gow, Thomas Ibotson, Ann, Sarah and Mary Ann. He was the third oldest of the eight children.
