Charley Newiss

Charley was born in March 1893 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.¹ Charley's father was Edwin C Newiss and his mother was Margaret Atkinson. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Newiss and Ann Hartley. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John William, Joseph, Edwin Cattley, Floretta, Lily, Alice and Annie. He was the sixth oldest of the eight children.
