James was born on November 5th, 1780.  James' father was William Islington (Tuck) and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Aldridge.  His paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Mary Tuck.  He was the fifth of ten children.  He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Robert, Jeremiah, Sarah, Mary, Jane, Ann and Rebecca.
