Justina's father was Karl Kautz and her mother was Karolina Wilhelmina Sprecher (Kautz, Hennig). Her maternal grandparents were Gottfried Sprecher and Anna Katharina Sokolosky (Sprecher). She had two brothers and two sisters, named Friedrich, Johann, Maria and Louise. She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Samuel, Christina, Susanna and Karolina.
