Ann's father was Joseph Best and her mother was Hannah Gillett.  Her paternal grandfather is Joesph Best and her paternal grandmother was Grace Best. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named Arthur, Edwin, James, Francis, Grace, Eliza, Rhoda, Hannah, Emma, Pamela, Lucy Jane and Jemmima.
