Herman was born on December 26th, 1895.1   Herman's father was Henry Strohmeier and his mother was Mary Bangert (Kraftt).  His paternal grandparents were Strohmeier and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Catherine Elisabeth Kraftt.  Karl Friedrich Bangert was his grandfather through his mother's adoption. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Fredie, Henry, William, Emma, Anna, Louisa, Grace, Katie and Minnie.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 75 on July 29th, 1971.  He was buried at the St. James Cemetery, North of Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois.2 1 




Herman's family

Herman and Edna were married on February 23rd, 1919.1   They had three sons and three daughters, named Elmer, George, Lester, Laura, Estella and Dorothy.
