Vohlke was born on August 18th, 1849 in Nordeney, Kolonie, Lower Saxony, Germany.1   Vohlke's father was Tamme Dirks Eckhoff and her mother was Gretje Heeren Hermans. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Jan, Tamme, Heere, S, Hempe, Fohlke and Trintje.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 66 on December 5th, 1915 in Strackholt, Aurich, Lower Saxony, Germany.1
