Caroline was born on March 19th, 1831 in Isenstedt, Prussia.1   Caroline's father was Heinrich Wilhelm Brumwort and her mother was Anna Maria Dorothea Beckschewe.  Her paternal grandparents were Johan Herman Brumwort and Margaret Lisabeth Blase; her maternal grandparents were Johan C. Beckschewe and Anna Margaretha Elisabeth Rabe. She had eight brothers and a sister, named Wilhelm, Heinrich, Henry, Anton, Louis, Carl, Friedrich, Ernst and Caroline.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 10 on May 16th, 1841.  She was buried in Gehlenbeck, Germany.1 1
