Marshall was born on October 20th, 1919.  Marshall's father was Elmer Rankin and his mother was Carrie Adams.  His paternal grandparents were William Henry Rankin and Amy Ursla Kimpton; his maternal grandparents were John Quincy Adams and Jane Ann Newcomb. He had a brother named Russell.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died  due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 40 on December 30th, 1959 in Beeches Nursing Home Monroe MI.  The funeral took place on January 2nd, 1960 in Dundee, MI and was arranged by Fisher Funeral Home Dundee MI.  He was buried on January 2nd, 1960 at the Ridgeway Cemetery.1

‌Marshall and Beulah were married in a religious ceremony on June 9th, 1951 in Chelsea, MI.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Carl, <Unknown>, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.
