Jemima Ann was born on April 26th, 1825.  Jemima Ann's father was Moses Wilkinson Whitehead and her mother was Jemima Farrar.  Her paternal grandparents were James Whitehead and Elizabeth Unknown; her maternal grandparents were John Farrar and Hannah Eccles. She had four sisters named Jane Farrar, Elizabeth Mary, Elizabeth and Hannah.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
