Hannah was born on November 16th, 1829.  Hannah's father was Moses Wilkinson Whitehead and her mother was Jemima Farrar.  Her paternal grandparents were James Whitehead and Elizabeth Unknown; her maternal grandparents were John Farrar and Hannah Eccles. She had four sisters named Jane Farrar, Jemima Ann, Elizabeth Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 11 in 1840.
