James was born on November 1st, 1658 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts.1   James' father was William Simonds and his mother was Judith Simonds.  His paternal grandfather is William Simonds; his maternal grandparents are William Phippen and Judith Phippen. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Caleb, Benjamin, Joshua, William, Joseph, Tabitha, Huldah, Sarah, Judith, Mary and Bethiah. He had a half-sister named Rebecca.  He died at the age of 58 on September 15th, 1717 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts.2
