Robert was born on January 7th, 1784 in Canhearth, Dumfries, Scotland.1   Robert's father was John C. Milligan and his mother was Margaret Milligan. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Anthony, David, James, Alexander, Helen, Mary and Janet.  He died at the age of 87 on February 3rd, 1871 in Lot 11, Prince Edward Island, Canada.1
