John was born in 1798.1   John's father was John C. Milligan and his mother was Margaret Milligan. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Thomas, Anthony, David, James, Alexander, Helen, Mary and Janet.  He died at the age of 75 in 1873.1
