Philip was born in 1906 in Cleveland, Ohio.1   Philip's father was Hersh Leib Pieniek and his mother was Chana Baila Warshauer.  His paternal grandparents were David Eleazer (Layzer)  Pieniek and Rana Temara Braun. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Abraham (Al), Esther, Zelda, Rachel (Ray), Minnie, Goldie, Mollie (Monia) and Irving.  He died at the age of 80 in 1986.
