Tojwie was born in 1859.  Tojwie's father was Cadek Pieniek and his mother was Ruchla Karas.  His paternal grandparents were Tobiasz Pieniek and Ester Bezbrody. He had a brother and three sisters, named Szymon, Udel, Genta and Nycha Fajgla.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 2 on September 9th, 1861.
