Genta was born on July 29th, 1862 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.1   Genta's father was Cadek Pieniek and her mother was Ruchla Karas.  Her paternal grandparents were Tobiasz Pieniek and Ester Bezbrody. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Tojwie, Szymon, Udel and Nycha Fajgla.  She was the fourth oldest of the five children.
