Nisson was born on April 24th, 1837.  Nisson's father was Abram Pieniek and his mother was Gela (Gitla). He had four brothers and five sisters, named Lewin, Izrael, Kalman, Michal, Ester, Gittel, Itta, Frumet and Itta.  He was the seventh oldest of the ten children.
