Frumet was born on May 5th, 1840 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.1   Frumet's father was Abram Pieniek and her mother was Gela (Gitla). She had five brothers and four sisters, named Lewin, Izrael, Kalman, Nisson, Michal, Ester, Gittel, Itta and Itta.  She was the eighth oldest of the ten children.
