Daniel Pieniek

Daniel is the child on the left

Daniel was born on October 20th, 1918 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.¹ Daniel's father was David Eleazer (b. Toyvia Wolf) Pieniek and his mother was Yita Shmiga. His paternal grandparents were Toyvia Wolfe Pieniek and Shaina Czarna; his maternal grandparents are Moishe Hirsh Shmiga and Yenta. He had a brother and three sisters, named Shmulek Yitzchak , Hanya, Fania (Freedka) (Frieda) and Bina Leah. He was the fourth oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 80 on January 1st, 1999 in Romans-sur-isère, France.

General Notes
- Jan 1939 - left Poland, arrived in France
  General Sykorsky recruited ex-Polish soldiers for the British and the French.
  1940 - Imprisoned by Germans, escaped after 3 months
  1941- Joined Liberation Army. Fought with the French Freedom Fighters with his wife.
  Was member of OSS.
