Nanny was born on February 13th, 1765 in Batley, Yorkshire, England.  Nanny's father was Thomas REDSHAW and her mother was Martha BOOTH.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert REDSHAW and Mary NEWTON.  She had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Robert, John, William, Joseph, Elisabeth, Mally and Martha.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
