    Our Joseph (Jr.) is believed to have died in the early 1840's, unknown date; widow remarried.  There is no Joseph WALKER b. est. 1804-1808  in Daviess Cty in 1850 census, further suggesting that he died beforehand.

    Also, you wrote of Nancy Norris marrying after Joseph died.  I found a marriage of a Nancy Walker married 17 Aug 1846 Daviess Co., IN to John Walker.  This I believe is Joseph's widow, who died about 1845, since John's will, date 11 May 1848, names as heirs: wife Nancy, Heirs Stephen, Ignatius, Mary L., Rebecca, Joseph, and Samuel.  Except for Stephen who was the only child of Nancy and John, the rest fit with what you gave me for Joseph's children.
    
    Probable match:  1840 US Census, residing in Daviess Cty, IN, head of h/hold Joseph WALKER, male-female 03100101-300001 (0-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60), thus 3 males age 5-10 (Joseph Benedict, Samuel August and unknown son), 1 male age 10-15 (John Chrysostom), one male age 30-40 (Joseph), one male age 50-60 (possibly Nancy's father); 3 females age 0-5 (Rebecca Ann, Mary Louisa and unknown daughter), one female age 30-40 (Nancy).  (Note:  Ignatius G. b. 11 May 1840; date of this census not indicated on page.)

    Land patent no. 3693 issued at Vincennes, IN on 5 Sep 1835 (the date is corrected from 5 Mar 1834 on the document itself) to Joseph (Jr. or Sr., unclear which) WALKER of Daviess Cty, IN for "the South West quarter of the North East quarter of Section Thirty-Six in Township Three North of Range Six West in the District of Lands subject to sale at Vincennes, Indiana containing Forty Acres."
    
    In 1830, there are two Joseph WALKER h/holds in Daviess Cty, IN: 
    
    1) male-female 10001-00001 (0-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, thus one male 0-5 (John Chrysostom?) and one male 20-30 (Joseph Jr.), plus one female 20-30 (Nancy))
    
    Same page includes a Sylvester MATINGLY [sic] (00002-0001) and a John WALKER (0000001-0000001).

    Same page includes a John DAVIS h/hold 000000001, thus one male 60-70 (no females); and a Levi DAVIS h/hold 000010001-10110001.  Perhaps these are brothers of Joseph WALKER Sr.'s wife Rebecca DAVIS.

    Note that there is no Joseph WALKER in St. Mary's Cty, MD for 1810 census, but two appear in Bardstown, Nelson Cty, KY.  There is a Joseph WALKER Jr. (= father?) head of h/hold appearing in the 1790 US Census in St. Mary's Cty, MD (see father's record), cannot be a match for this Joseph Jr. b. est. 1790.
    
    Other notes:
    Note also.  The following Joseph WALKER appears in 1850 census for Barr Twp, Daviess Cty  as b. KY but est. 1815, living  with (wife) Matilda and three children (likely a relative but not a match - too young).
