    possible match for probate record, cf. names of heirs with names of Joseph Sr.'s family members:
    probate record:
    (decedent) Walker, William, March 1845, administrator Lewis Spears, heirs John Walker over 14, Joseph Walker under 14, Rebecca Walker under 14, James Harvey Walker under 14, William McGill Walker under 14.  Thomas Walker named guardian to all heirs (incl John Walker over 14).  (Note:  John probably born before March 1831, other children born after March 1831.)

    The 1840 census for Daviess Co., IN has two William Walkers.  One is in Barr Township, 100001-00001, thus elder male is age 30-40 (b. 1800-1810); and the other is in an unnamed township, 120111-10001, thus eldest male here is also age 30-40 (b. 1800-1810).  The second William seems to be the better match, since he appears to have five sons and one daughter, and the will names four male heirs and one minor female heir. 
    
    It is also interesting (but maybe only a coincidence) that this William appears in an unnamed township on roll 77, page 2, close to Joseph Sr.'s sons Ignatius (77, 4), Zachariah (77, 8), Joseph [Jr.] (77, 17), and J[ames] D. (77, 22).
    
    In the 1850 census, one of the second William's heirs, Rebecca, probably appears in the home of farmer Lewis Spears, the administrator of William's will:  she is age 13 (born about 1837), born in Indiana.  (I haven't managed to track the other heirs, though.  Of note, the John 1830 IN and Joseph 1831 IN in Nancy Walker's household in Reeve Township appear tantalizingly like the heirs of William Walker -- they are the right ages to match the boys in William's will.  However, we have all pretty much assumed that these are rather John Chrysostom and Joseph Benedict, the sons of Joseph Walker Jr. (s/o Joseph Sr. and Rebecca Davis) and Nancy Norris.)
    
    Appears in 1830 census in Davies Cty h/hold of  Joseph Sr.
    
    unlikely match, as Joseph Sr. had another son named James:  There is a James B. WALKER who m. Elizabeth O'BRIEN 17 Oct 1831 in Martin Cty, IN.  Elizabeth remarried to Lewis SCHOOLEY 5 Jul 1845, also in Martin Cty.  If this James were s/o Joseph Sr., should be mentioned in 1836 will but is not.
