William Reid

William was born on January 18th, 1793 in Ayr and his baptism took place there on January 19th, 1793.

William's father was Adam Reid and his mother was Catharine Fulton.  His maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Adam, John, James, Alexander, Archibald, Jean, Marion, Elizabeth, Catherine and Margaret.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
