John Reid

John was born on April 14th, 1790 in Ayr and his baptism took place there on April 16th, 1790.¹

John's father was Adam Reid and his mother was Catharine Fulton.  His maternal grandparents were William Fulton and Jean Urie. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Adam, William, James, Alexander, Archibald, Jean, Marion, Elizabeth, Catherine and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
