Peter's father was Robert McCulloch and his mother was Agnes Bryan Munachen. His maternal grandparents were William Munachen and Catherine Robertson. He had seven half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, John, George, James, Euphemia, Andrew, Peter, Agnes and Kate. He died at the age of 3 in 1899 in Ayr.¹
