William was born in 1893 in Childer Thornton, Hooton, Cheshire.1   William's father was John Price Millichap and his mother was Eliza Davies.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Millichap and Ann Price; his maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and Eliza. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, Charles, Ernest, Mary and Lilian.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
